Annual Spelling Bee
Annual Spelling BeeThe Nebraska Literary Heritage Association's 26th Annual Adult Spelling Bee in support of the Heritage Room of Nebraska Authors will be held Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 7:00 PM at Brewsky's in the Haymarket in Lincoln.

Summer Writing Workshops
Summer Writing WorkshopsApply now to participate in this summer's I Love to Write workshop for 2nd through 5th graders, or the We Love to Write workshop for 2nd through 5th graders and their adults!

Students in grades 6 through 9 can apply to take part in this summer's I Love to Write2 workshop.

The deadline for applying for all three workshops is April 15!

New Formats Being Added
Playstation 3 and Xbox gamesLincoln City Libraries announces the addition of PlayStation 3 and Xbox games to its current collection of video games for check-out.

Playaway recorded bookAlso, Playaways, pre-loaded digital audiobooks for children and teens, are coming in March.

Writers' Workshop
Writers' WorkshopGere Branch Library is holding a Writers' Workshop on Wednesdays, April 7 through May 19, 2010 (no workshop May 5) from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Pre-registration is recommended; call (402)441-8560.

Winter Chess
Winter ChessCome to Gere Branch Library each Wednesday from February 17 to April 7 for family friendly chess for all ages, including chess lessons from 4:00 - 4:30 and free play from 4:30 - 5:30.

Also planned is a Rapid Chess Tourney on Saturday, April 17 from 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM.
